Below Grade Solutions

Turbo Seal’s unique characteristics have proven it to be ideally suited for the most challenging below grade waterproofing projects. Since Turbo Seal never completely cures, it can respond to movement, vibration and thermal expansion/contraction. Turbo Seal exhibits excellent adhesion and cohesion, maintaining a strong bond with the concrete structure. If the membrane is punctured or damaged, Turbo Seal also has the ability to self-heal, even under hydrostatic pressure.

Using Turbo Seal can also significantly shorten the construction period. Turbo Seal’s excellent temperature resistance has allowed application in temperatures as low as minus 40C. It can also be applied to green concrete and requires no primer. Surface preparation is quick and easy.

INCHEON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTĀ

The Re-Systems Group’s signature below grade waterproofing project is the Incheon International Airport in South Korea. Soon to be the world’s largest airport, it is a marvel of modern engineering. Currently in its Phase 3 of construction, Incheon International Airport will become the undisputed central hub for all air travel in Asia. All below grade waterproofing for Phase 2 (over 1.5 million square feet), which was just completed, was done with Turbo Seal

Construction of the airport has posed many significant challenges. The location of Incheon International is on what was the middle of Incheon Island’s tidal basin. Seven miles of conveyor belts wind their way down from nearby island and a continuous armada of dump trucks create the foundation for Incheon’s terminals and runways. Incheon is literally being constructed out of the ocean. These challenging conditions demanded special attention to be paid to the waterproofing systems for construction.

In the following short clip, the below grade waterproofing for Phase 2 of Incheon International Airport is taking place using Turbo Seal.
